Pray to Restore
Let us get back to the basics by praying to our loving father to restore everything
Children can receive blessings when their parents trust God’s promises and remain steadfast in prayer. John 10:10 says that the thief’s purpose is to steal, kill, and to destroy. But God’s purpose is to give your children a prosperous future and hope. God’s purpose is to restore abundant life to your children. He will restore their physical (Jeremiah 30:17), emotional (Psalm 147:3), and spiritual life (Psalm 23:3). God can restore the relationship with your children (Malachi 4:6).
May the Lord restore your hope as you boldly claim God’s Word in prayer for your children. Trust in the power of your prayers and watch as He moves in their lives. “In Your Word, I do hope” (Psalm 130:5). True restoration comes when we humbly seek God in prayer. (2 Chronicles 7:14).
“I will restore you to health. And heal your wounds.” (Jeremiah 30:17a)
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)
“He restores my soul.” (Psalm 23:3a)
“He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the hearts of the children to their parents.” (Malachi 4:6a)
Our prayers are to inspire the parents towards the power of prayer for their children. Will you join us to pray for your Children?
Why Should Parents Pray for Their Children: A Biblical Perspective
Parenting is one of the most rewarding yet challenging responsibilities anyone can undertake. As parents, you are entrusted with nurturing your children not only physically and emotionally but also spiritually. While many aspects of parenting involve teaching and guiding, one of the most profound ways to impact your children is through prayer.
The Bible is filled with examples and encouragements for parents to pray for their children. Here are some key reasons why praying for your children is essential, along with supporting scripture to guide and inspire you.
1. Prayer Invites God’s Guidance and Wisdom
Parenting often involves navigating situations that require wisdom beyond human understanding. Through prayer, parents can seek God’s guidance in raising their children according to His will.
• James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
• Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Praying for wisdom allows parents to align their decisions with God’s divine plan for their children’s lives.
2. Prayer Offers Protection
Children face numerous challenges in today’s world, from peer pressure to spiritual attacks. Prayer serves as a shield, inviting God’s protection over their lives.
• Psalm 91:11: “For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
• 2 Thessalonians 3:3: “But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
By praying for protection, parents place their children in the safest hands—God’s.
3. Prayer Shapes Their Spiritual Growth
As parents, it’s natural to desire that your children develop a personal relationship with God. Prayer is a powerful way to intercede for their spiritual growth and salvation.
• Ephesians 3:16-17: “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”
• Isaiah 54:13: “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
Praying for your children’s spiritual lives invites the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts and guide them toward a deeper relationship with God.
4. Prayer Provides Peace for Parents
Parenting can be overwhelming, and worrying about your children’s future is natural. Prayer allows you to release your anxieties and trust in God’s plans.
• Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Through prayer, parents can find peace, knowing that their children are in God’s loving care.
5. Prayer Leaves a Legacy of Faith
When parents pray for their children, they model a life of faith and dependence on God. This legacy of prayer can influence generations to come.
• Deuteronomy 6:6-7: “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
• 2 Timothy 1:5: “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.”
Your prayers not only affect your children but also demonstrate the importance of a prayerful life, leaving a lasting impact on their faith journey.
Conclusion
Praying for your children is one of the most impactful things you can do as a parent. Through prayer, you invite God to work in their lives, protect them, and guide them toward His purposes. It is an act of faith, love, and surrender, trusting that God’s plans for them are good.
As you commit to praying for your children, remember the promise in 1 John 5:14: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
Prayer for Parents:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of children. Help us as parents to seek You in all that we do. Give us wisdom, strength, and patience to raise them according to Your will. Protect them from harm, guide their steps, and draw them closer to You. May our prayers serve as a covering over their lives, and may they grow to know and love You deeply. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
